Director's Message

Healthcare industry is in focus right now. It is a growing industry with an expected valuation of $132 billion dollars in India for the year 2023. While a lot of corporate and private players are scrambling to be a part of this boom, the public health system has stepped up in this scenario. It is emerging as a competitor by providing better facilities at the government centers and bridging in the human resource shortage. It is also creating new avenues to step up on medical and nursing education to ensure future workforce. In these changing times with flourishing private practice, corporate hospitals and growing public health sector, we believe that Evangelical Mission Hospital, Tilda, though precariously placed; is still relevant and has a crucial role to play.

Firstly, we represent an institution that strives to dissociate the industry from health and put the 'care' back.
Secondly, being in proximity to the capital of Chhattisgarh, Raipur,  people have access to all advanced facilities. But the village folks are simple and tend to get lost while navigating the corridors of big hospitals and cities. Our endeavour is to bring healthcare to them in the language they understand and at a place they feel at home. Also, we mindfully work to create a niche in areas that the public health system is not well equipped to deal with yet, for example therapeutic services to differently-able individuals, rehabilitation, palliative care, community and tribal health etc.
Thirdly, we are well placed to serve people from different cadres and walks of life. This gives us an opportunity to show the same compassion and care to all the people who come to us irrespective of their social or economic status, caste or creed.

Finally, we understand that we continue to serve for the past 94 years only by the grace and mercy of God. He has used various people to sustain and grow this institution. We are all jars of clay and being moulded by Him for His purpose. We pray that we work for our Master as He wills and desires, not for the people but among and with the people.
Thus with the mandate given to us we continue to work keeping our vision (To transform communities and individuals in the spirit of Christ) in mind. The words of the Lord spoken in Matthew 25:40 urge us forward, “Truly I tell you; whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me.”as we work together in our Lord's Healing Ministry.
